Jim has hands-on Senior Vice-President and Chief Marketing Officer leadership experience and a consistent track record of utilizing proven techniques to effectively lead teams that achieve winning top line and bottom line results. His teams consistently ranked in the top 5% of Gallup Survey scores of engaged employees at all levels. Jim combines energy, passion, tenacity and commitment in order to facilitate growth. As Chief Marketing Officer and Senior Vice-President of Marketing for Hallmark, Jim was responsible for Brand Strategy and Portfolio Management, Advertising, Promotion, the Hallmark Hall of Fame, Market Research, Customer Relationship Management, on-line marketing, licensing partnerships, retailer marketing and customer loyalty programs. Jim invented and initially launched the Hallmark Gold Crown Card which is recognized as a benchmark loyalty program with over 13 million active members. He introduced multiple new Hallmark advertising campaigns featuring innovation resulting in double digit key product dollar sales increases in 2003 through 2005 critical 4th quarter holiday periods. Winner of the Promotion Pro Award, a 2004 Effie Advertising Award and a Clio 2004 Television Cinema Award for the Hallmark Hall of Fame, Jim and his teams developed and aired advertising often ranked in the Advertising Age top 10 spots on brand recall. He created and introduced employer branding at Hallmark directly contributing double digit employee engagement scores across the Marketing Division. Jim created and launched a new Brand Identity positioning as part of employer branding. He created and implemented strategic brand and category marketing plans with key retail customers that consistently produced strong retail results including the Gold Crown independent store network, Wal-Mart, Walgreens, Target, CVS, Longs, Kroger and other key customers. Jim introduced compelling retail marketing initiatives which resulted in placing $2.6 billion of mass retailer customer business under contract. As President of Licensing, Jim developed major strategic partnerships including Warner Brothers, Disney, Mattel, United Media and Blockbuster Video. He successfully launched innovative marketing and strategic partnerships resulting in $1 billion of Licensing business. Jim also created a new music platform focused on growth featuring exclusive CD promotions by several key artists including James Taylor, The Beach Boys, Olivia Newton-John and George Strait resulting in six platinum (over 1 million units) and gold (over 500,000 units) records.
