Overview of position:  


Petsource is hiring a Plant HR Manager to fill a critical leadership role at the facility. This position will drive a strong culture of strategic and proactive HR business partnering in the areas of employee experience and engagement, employee and leader development, performance management, employee relations, recruitment, talent planning and more. This position proactively drives and supports the delivery of Human Resources services and solutions to a 100+ employee facility, acting as a primary point of contact for employees and managers for employee relations situations. 


 


The ideal candidate will be a self-starter with an enthusiastic hands-on, can-do attitude and possess team-oriented leadership skills. The individual must have a comprehensive knowledge of broad human resources programs and processes and basic employment law. It is important to be comfortable in a fast-paced manufacturing environment that is ever-changing. The person in this position will report the an HR Director and manage two HR team members.


 


HR Business Partnering



  • Lead the onsite Petsource HR team and provide comprehensive HR support for 100+ employee facility including employee relations, employee engagement, performance management, workforce/talent planning, HR compliance, organizational change management and more

  • Develop relationships with leaders and employees across the plant to facilitate and promote an environment that attracts and retains exceptional talent

  • Foster and champion Petsource and Scoular culture and ensure an inclusive approach to employee engagement and recognition

  • Align with other members of Scoular’s HR team including HR centers of expertise (COE) to drive consistent programs and best practices, optimize Scoular resources and create best in class experiences for managers and employees


Employee Relations and HR Compliance



  • Provide expertise in conducting internal investigations and bring employment relation issues to resolution

  • Provide coaching and guidance to business leaders regarding performance management, disciplinary action and terminations.  Conduct exit interviews and provide analysis of findings

  • Analyze and present risk factors to business leaders when taking employment actions. Ensure appropriate processes are followed and compliance requirements with local and federal regulations are met

  • Collaborate with HR Operations and HR COE teams to ensure consistency and alignment in HR processes while bringing a continuous improvement mindset to the work


Talent Planning, Recruiting, On-Boarding and Training



  • Develop and lead execution of staffing strategy to ensure a constant pipeline of qualified talent to efficiently and safely run the facility

  • Lead new employee on-boarding programs

  • Coordinate and facilitate (as needed) new employee training


 


 


About You:



  • Comprehensive knowledge of broad human resources programs and processes and basic employment law

  • Ideally bilingual in Spanish and English, but not required

  • Post-secondary degree in Human Resources or related discipline, 5+ years of progressive HR or related experience, including a minimum 3 years of employee relations experience

  • Experience working in a manufacturing or production facility and ability to adapt to shifting priorities within that environment

  • Demonstrated success developing and leading employee experience programs such as employee engagement, diversity and inclusion and culture ambassador

  • Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with business leaders and employees

  • Comfortable managing conflict and demonstrated strong conflict resolution skills

  • Demonstrated business acumen

  • Experienced in establishing appropriate metrics and using data effectively to analyze issues, anticipate trends and make decisions

  • Skilled in handling sensitive employee information with complete confidentiality

  • Strong customer service orientation and service leadership

  • Skilled with full-cycle recruiting of front-line employees

  • Proactively and independently identify, research and solve problems

  • Possesses outstanding communication, presentation, and computer proficiency, along with advanced knowledge in Human Resource Information Systems (HRIS), particularly ADP expertise
