Petsource, a leading provider of freeze-dried ingredients for the pet food industry, is seeking an experienced Refrigeration (PSM) Manager. This role combines responsibilities for overseeing the installation, maintenance, and repair of refrigeration systems with a strong emphasis on ensuring compliance with process safety management (PSM) regulations. The ideal candidate will demonstrate leadership skills, technical proficiency in refrigeration technology, and a commitment to maintaining a safe and efficient working environment.
- Supervision and Team Management:
- Lead and manage a team of refrigeration technicians, providing guidance, training, and performance evaluations.
- Coordinate daily activities, prioritize tasks, and ensure efficient deployment of resources to meet production demands.
- Refrigeration System Maintenance:
- Oversee the installation, maintenance, and repair of various refrigeration systems, including coolers, freezers, and freeze dryers.
- Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs to optimize equipment performance and minimize downtime.
- Process Safety Management (PSM):
- Ensure compliance with PSM regulations, including proper handling and disposal of refrigerants, as per OSHA guidelines.
- Implement and maintain PSM documentation, including policies, procedures, and training programs.
- Safety and Compliance:
- Monitor adherence to industry safety standards and regulations, conducting regular inspections and audits to identify potential hazards.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address safety concerns and implement corrective actions as needed
- Continuous Improvement:
- Stay abreast of industry trends and advancements in refrigeration technology and safety standards, making recommendations for equipment upgrades or process improvements.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement, encouraging innovation and efficiency in refrigeration operations.
About You
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Refrigeration Technology, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of five years of experience as a refrigeration technician or supervisor, with a strong understanding of industrial refrigeration systems.

- Demonstrated leadership abilities, with the ability to effectively manage a team and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Thorough knowledge of process safety management (PSM) regulations, including OSHA's Process Safety Management standard, and refrigeration safety procedures.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with team members and stakeholders at all levels.
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, with attention to detail and accuracy in maintenance and repair activities.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints.
- Commitment to maintaining a safe work environment and promoting a culture of safety and continuous improvement.
