What you will do:


Scoular’s Origination Internship immerses you in an early level buyer position at one of our grain facilities where you are challenged to develop and utilize skills to build relationships with producer customers for purchasing commodities.  This role will partner closely with the logistics team, accounting team, originators and facility/plant staff. You will: 



  • Collaborate with a team of originators to purchase and sell commodities

  • Learn and understand local producer trends and assist in communicating this information to the broader team.

  • Gain an understanding of risk management and its impact on the business

  • Analyze market conditions and other economic factors

  • Develop and maintain customer relationships with end-users and suppliers

  • Own and manage a project throughout the summer and present your experience, learning and recommendations to key leaders
