Job Description:

Under the daily direction of the Distribution Center Manager, the employee performs various duties related to parts and machine distribution including picking, packing, shipping, receiving, and related documentation.

 

POSITION EXPECTATIONS

  • Solve customer requests and needs with required urgency
  • General understanding of agriculture machinery, the Kuhn North America product lines, and all replacement parts needs.
  • Receive, stock, and ship both parts & machines using established systems and resources.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.  Other duties may be assigned.

  • Assist customers (via phone or walk-in) with basic parts and machine orders. 
  • Review pick tickets for parts availability and location of available parts.  Forward any availability or inventory issues to Distribution Center Coordinator.
  • Select and pack parts shipments utilizing computer generated pick tickets.  Visually inspect final product for conformance to established quality standards.  Verify piece count for inventory.
  • Select the best method for shipping parts to customers and expedite shipments.
  • Track shipments as requested.
  • Receive parts and machines from Kuhn manufacturing locations, vendors, or other distribution centers and place in assigned inventory location.
  • Complete required machine and parts shipping and inventory documentation.  Report any discrepancies.
  • Perform related material handling duties.  Operate forklift to transport and store materials, machines & parts.
  • Participate in the Company’s team process to develop and improve customer service.  Continually strive to find better ways to complete tasks and be the best in the industry.
  • Maintain work area in a clean and orderly fashion and conform to all quality and safety procedures.

 

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

Education and/or Experience - The individual must have a high school diploma or GED.  Knowledge and experience in the areas of customer service, inventory, and farm equipment is preferred.

 

Language Skills - Ability to read and comprehend written instructions, blue prints, parts documentation, technical manuals, and short correspondence.  Ability to write standard parts & machine documentation.  Ability to communicate with dealers, customers, and other employees to gather and share information and solve problems.  Requires good telephone skills.

 

Mathematical Skills - Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

 

Reasoning Ability – Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.  Ability to interpret a variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.  Ability to take responsibility for the result of the decision.

 

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations – Requires the ability to obtain a forklift driver’s certificate.
