Corteva Agriscience is currently seeking a highly motivated Research Associate to join the Controlled Environments, Seed Handling Team at our Johnston, Iowa Research facility. This position supports a team dedicated to the timely harvest, processing, and fulfillment of quality seed to ensure delivery of key traits to the field or stakeholders.

Responsibilities - What You'll Do:

* Predominantly support our Seed Handling operations including seed receiving, sourcing, filling, staging, color marker screening, and inventory maintenance.

* Prioritize seed requests, ensuring the timely staging of seed for planting and shipment of outbound material to meet critical field deadlines.

* Perform regulatory and seed ID checks prior to location assignment within the greenhouse storage location.

* Will assist with the annual seed reconciliation and consolidation process, ensuring operational efficiency of the greenhouse storage location.

* May assist in additional Seed Handling related activities including harvest, processing, late-stage data collection, germination assessments, etc. across a multitude of crops.

* Responsible for understanding Corteva and Seed Handling procedures to meet all regulatory compliance and permitting requirements.

QualificationsEducation:

Associates/Bachelor's degree in Seed Technology, Plant Physiology, Agronomy, Horticulture, Biology, or related field of study.

* Able to stand and sit for long periods of time, lift a minimum of 50 pounds, tolerate hours of repetitive work in a wide range of environments (warm, humid greenhouse, cold room, etc.) with pollen and dust present year-round.

* Proficient with Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).

What Makes You Stand Out:

* Experience working in a high-throughput laboratory or greenhouse setting.

* Experience working in a seed lab, germination lab, or greenhouse.

* Knowledge and understanding of Corteva's seed inventory programs and/or database systems (MyCE, GCIT, xSeed, Seed Request, Fill Manager, Fill, WOH, WWS, DIRT, etc.).

* Experience using Spotfire, PowerBI, or other reporting and data visualization tools.
