Corteva Agriscience is seeking a highly motivated, creative, and dynamic scientist with a strong track record of innovation in one or more of the interrelated areas of RNA biology including virus-based synthetic biology, mechanism of virus infection and mobility, metabolism, and expression. The qualifying candidate will develop and lead an experimental initiative in the application of RNA and virus-based reagents for genome editing.

Responsibilities - What You Will do:

* Lead, design, conduct, interpret and report results for DNA free delivery methods in plant cells for genome editing trait product development applications.

* Provide technical leadership, scientific guidance and mentoring to team members.

* Work in a multidisciplinary and highly collaborative environment comprising internal cross-functional teams and external partners.

* Interpret and communicate findings, conclusions and recommendations with internal and external audiences including conference presentations and peer-reviewed journal articles.

* Follow safety guidelines and maintain operational excellence through quality management and good housekeeping.

QualificationsEducation:

Ph.D. in plant virology and gene editing, RNA metabolism, or a related field. Applicants with a M.S. and 8-10 years related experience will also be considered.

What Skills You Need:

* Evidence of strong and creative research publication record in DNA free genome editing-based approaches.

* Demonstrated expertise in molecular lab techniques and computational manipulation of data.

* Strong organizational and documentation skills, capable of managing multiple workstreams to meet internal deadlines and goals.

* Successful record of working in highly collaborative and cross-disciplinary environments.

* Experience and knowledge in laboratory safety practices, including use of PPE, SDSs and proper handling and disposal of laboratory waste.
