Job Description: DescriptionCorteva Agriscience is a leader in delivering novel and sustainable solutions for the future of agriculture. The Protein Engineering Optimization& Design (PEOD) group combines genomic analysis, activity-based screening, protein characterization and optimization to deliver novel insect control traits. The PEOD Research Associate will be a key contributor to our research team that supports Biotechnology discovery.

Responsibilities - What You'll Do:

* PCR, cloning, mutagenesis, DNA purification, sequencing, and transformation/transduction

* Develop, optimize, and execute high-throughput library screening workflow

* Perform sequence analyses and database searches using Geneious and other internal molecular biology and bioinformatics tools

* Conduct various assays to characterize proteins

* Maintain lab with its functionality

* Operate automation system, maintain equipment, trouble shooting workflows

* Written and verbal communication of plans, procedures, and results with internal and external stakeholders

QualificationsEducational Qualifications:

MS/MA or BS/BA in molecular biology, biochemistry or a related discipline with 3+ years of relevant research experience.

Competencies and Qualifications:

* Independent thinker; wants to solve problems by taking the lead; self motivated and ability to learn new things

* Have a knowledge of molecular biology methods including cloning, mutagenesis, DNA purification, bacterial cell culture, PCR, and sequencing

* Demonstrated ability to design primers, plasmid constructs, and libraries

* Ability to design, optimize, and run plate-based assays in a high throughput manner.

* Proficiency with modern molecular biology tools and software

* Familiarity with bioinformatics sequence analysis tools like BLAST

* Experience in operating automation equipment such as liquid handlers and Qpix

* Have an experience of utilizing a plate reader for assays

* Experience of handling insecticidal toxins is a plus

* Demonstrated ability to manage and analyze large datasets and samples using Excel, JMP, or similar software

* Database management experience

* Demonstrated ability to meet project deadline

* Have a knowledge in method development validation process

* Excellent verbal and written communication skills
