General Purpose and Scope of Position:

***This is a night shift position working 5 days per week 10-hour shifts (6:00 pm to 4:00 am)***

The primary role of the Night Shift Production Supervisor:

Daily supervision of all facility operations personnel, including planning and scheduling of work for all operators, assigning work tasks, and managing employees' vacation and overtime. Providing daily leadership through example, focusing on timely communication, objective feedback, clear work instructions, and coaching for continuous improvement. Coordinating manpower with the production schedule to ensure that training, goals, safety training, and cross-training needs are met.

Key Skills and Abilities Include:
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience required
  • Willingness to operate material handling equipment including forklift, extruder, grinder, mixer, pellet machine, and other equipment as required
  • Experience operating an extruder is a plus
  • Must be able to regularly lift to 50 lbs., occasionally lift to 80 lbs.
  • Manual dexterity - must be able to be on your feet for long periods and must be able to work in a production environment
  • Able to follow written and verbal directions and complete necessary documentation
  • The ability to read and write English is required, and the ability to speak Spanish is a plus
  • Willingness to work overtime hours

Specific Responsibilities and Key Deliverables Include:
  • Organize work of the lines and production for daily production based on the Plant Operations Manager's direction
  • Set up line according to a scheduled production job
  • Inspect all materials for cleanliness and integrity. Report any issues before processing
  • Blend materials in the assigned mixer according to the workflow
  • Documentation as required in all aspects of job duties
  • Work directly with Plant Operator Leads to guarantee the production, safety, and quality goals of each shift to fulfill company and customer needs
  • Learn and train all roles required at the plant (mixing, bagging, forklift, control room, extruder, etc.)
  • Operate processing equipment as outlined in SOPs
  • Maintain facility cleanliness throughout all operations
  • Perform Quality Control while handling products
  • Accurately document tasks performed (processing, maintenance, cleaning, etc.)
  • Responsible for reporting safety/food safety problems to management, up to and including stopping a production line
  • Maintain all current training.
  • Comply with all Food Safety Guidelines, Standard Operating Procedures, FDA and OSHA guidelines, as well as Federal and State laws governing the workplace.
  • Able to work and contribute to a team approach with a positive attitude and outlook
  • Perform any other duties as assigned by management professionally and efficiently.


Compensation and Benefits:
  • In compliance with all states and cities requiring transparency of pay, the base compensation for this position ranges from $61,300 - $81,710. Note that salary may vary based on location, skills, and experience. This position is eligible for vacation, holidays, health, dental, vision, mental health, and retirement plan participation, including an employer contribution of up to 7% into your 401(k).
