MIXING & SALES ASSISTANT
The mixing & sales assistant will split their time between operating the Liqui-Grow Retail liquid fertilizer mixing system and supporting Liqui-Grow sales and operations.
Liquid Fertilizer Mix Room Operator
Day to Day:
- Keep the location manager informed of property issues that may arise
- Be a team player
- Willing to work the required hours during the season (i.e. early a.m., longer nights, weekends, holiday possibility with an alternative day off)
- Good communication skills
- Basic computer knowledge
- Meet license requirements
- Handlers license
- Applicators license
- Keep up on any training (Dicamba, applicator, etc.) as needed or scheduled
- CDL
Retail mix system:
- Learn the ins and outs of running the retail mix system.
- This includes but is not limited to system updates, communicating issues with program IT, navigating breakdowns/delays, lining up truckers, figuring out load lineup with salesman/applicator, reading field maps, and giving directions.
- Knowledge of outside load system, maintenance, rinsing schedule
- Good communication with staff related to getting products out, working around shortages, machine breakdowns, and basic day-to-day plans, especially in season.
- Winterizing system
Chemicals:
- Coordinate chemical needs and delivery schedules for bulk products and packages with the location manager and warehouse person.
- Maintaining meters, valves, and plumbing as needed or scheduled along with winterizing
Equipment:
- Helping with maintaining trucks in/out of season along with winterizing
- Helping with maintaining machines in/out of season along with winterizing
- Troubleshooting with truckers and applicators during the season as problems occur (for example trailer pumps)
- Spill procedures
Sales and Operations Support
The Sales and Operations Support role has the responsibility of being a support person to retail salespeople within the Hampton location who require assistance in day-to-day tasks that include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Participate in all training activities pursuant to gaining knowledge of all products and the benefits to the grower when applied to their fields.
- Stay current on new company and industry products, trends, and how they will benefit your customer base and impact your location.
- Assist with customer field scouting, weed I.D., and soil testing
- Meet growers to discuss the opportunities that Liqui-Grow can provide them.
- Collect the necessary information on customers’ fields to develop the proper fertilizer and herbicide/pesticide application recommendations.
- Keep the sales team fully informed of all operations.
- Work with your location manager to obtain support in meeting sales support goals.
- Assist in the collection of all customer account information.
- Professionally conduct yourself. Work to create and maintain a positive image for Liqui-Grow and yourself in the community
Requirements
- Must pass a pre-drug test
- Must have a good driving record
- Must have or obtain a CDL – Twin State, Inc. will facilitate
- Application/ag equipment experience is ideal but required
