Position summary:

Opportunity to work in and be part of a heavy-duty truck garage.  This position will allow the candidate to receive hands on experience in the servicing and repair of diesel trucks and bulk feed delivery trailers. This person will have the opportunity to work different mechanical systems beyond tractor maintenance to include hydraulics and pneumatic systems on our equipment.

The ideal candidate would have an interest in broadening their knowledge base beyond the repair and maintenance of a diesel truck.

In this position you will perform scheduled maintenance on trucks and trailers, regular tire work, brake work, replacing hydraulic lines and hydraulic motors, work on electrical systems, learn about emission systems, and introduction to software programs for different systems on the vehicles. In addition to servicing and repairing equipment this part-time position would provide the opportunity to be exposed to inventory management, work order creation, as well as housekeeping activities.

What will you do:

Essential functions:

1.  General commercial motor vehicle, commercial tank trailer, and small vehicle repair and maintenance.
2. Other duties as determined by the Truck Service Technician Leader.

Who are you:

1. Accumulated solid foundation of general work experience.
2. Knowledge of general auto/truck equipment operation and maintenance preferred.
3. Ability to operate various types of machinery and heavy equipment preferred.
4. Possess truck mechanic experience and ability to effectively diagnose and repair motor vehicles.
5. Possession of a valid class Class A CDL license is preferred, but not required.
6. Ability to handle heavy objects: tires, springs, brake drums and tools to repair vehicles, up to 80 lbs.
7. Ability to work inside tank bins (confined area).
8. Ability to climb ladders and work at heights of 15'.
9. General welding skills and ability to work with hydraulics a plus.
10. Maintains a clean and orderly work area, encouraging safety and efficiency.
11. Accurately and promptly completes all repair related paperwork, to include those related to proper inventory and parts usage.
12. Perform all duties in a professional and safe manner, compliant with all governmental, Wenger Feeds, and Wenger Feeds Garage policies & procedures.
