Assigned mechanical job duties to maintain and repair food processing equipment. Completes repairs during the processing season to meet production goals. Overhaul and install plant equipment during non-production periods to be ready for the next scheduled production run.

Responsibilities:
  • Supervise the sanitation/janitorial crew year-round while they clean the buildings, equipment, grounds, walls, floors, and ceilings along with keeping all sanitation documents up to date and accurate.
  • In charge of all seasonal and repack sanitation operations on pack and off pack including weekly repack sanitation.
  • Responsible for repairing, maintaining, ordering and cost control of sanitation chemicals and equipment.
  • Responsible for working directly with QA to eliminate/improve listeria and environmentals throughout the facility.
  • Manage and maintain Ozone systems throughout the facility. Work with supplier on any issues.
  • Responsible for training employees who participate in sanitation on proper sanitation techniques, chemical handling, and all safety items.
  • Participate and be actively involved in the location safety committee. Complete assigned inspections as required.
  • During the off-pack season (when sanitation duties lighten) will be expected to help with general maintenance in manufacturing where needed.
  • Ensure that Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), safety rules, and regulations are being followed and enforced.
  • Accurate and timely record keeping; including preparation and follow-up on issues in a timely manner.
  • Maintenance of other areas as needed.
  • Employee relations/supervision and training of seasonal staff in work area
  • Appropriate budget planning, cost control, and developing/planning.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Must have good attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Willingness to attend ongoing education classes/trainings.
