This position is responsible for maintaining and repairing lift trucks.

Responsibilities:

Repair, maintain and overhaul plant forklift trucks
Repair and maintain plant material handling equipment
Repair and maintain dock levelers and doors
Keep records of lift maintenance
Maintain supply of parts and advise proper personnel when stock runs low
Fill LP tanks daily
Inspect and test drive to determine defects
Make repairs, clean and paint as required
Assist machinists and electricians as required
Keep work area clean

Qualifications:

Have good mechanical knowledge of forklifts and related equipment
Use hand tools, power tools, hoists, lubricating equipment and electrical and gas welding and burning apparatus
Knowledge of hydraulic systems and repairs
Pass Forklift Mechanic Test
