Roach Ag. Marketing is an independent, full-service brokerage and commodity advisory firm founded in 1978. Roach Ag. spent its first 21 years in Perry, Iowa, before moving headquarters to beautiful Boca Raton, Florida. In addition, we have 5 offices located across the Corn Belt to better serve our clients and provide intelligence to the home office about crop and livestock fundamentals throughout the United States. 

 

We continually work to improve our broker training and methods of soliciting new customers. We have been successful training new college grads and experienced brokers in our methods. We have helped both groups build sizable books of business. In 2021 we doubled our space at our company headquarters in Boca Raton, Florida and at our branch office in Woodridge, Illinois. We have 30 series III brokers and specialize in corn, soybeans, wheat, cattle, and hog futures as well as agriculture commodity options and we continue to hire the very best people to work for us.

Overview

Experienced brokers will continue building their book of business while learning our specialized system, branding tools, market analysis and sales strategy in a competitive environment. Most brokers consider our position a hybrid between a broker, consultant, accountant, and salesperson.  

 

Responsibilities Include

  • Solicit and develop new business (phone, meetings, and one on one on the farm)
  • Provide market outlook analysis and price risk assessment to customers
  • Supply market information and recommendations
  • Secure new and maintain existing accounts
  • Execute futures and options trades as a price risk tool or for speculative purposes
  • Maintain daily, monthly, and annual customer records
  • Attend trade shows to obtain new business
  • Conduct seminars, radio, print media and TV appearances
  • Successful candidates will have an entrepreneurial spirit and desire to work in an environment where they are responsible for setting and attaining their own goals.
  • Earnings will be commission based.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in agricultural business preferred but not required; Communications, Business and other majors can also be successful 
  • 3-5 years’ work experience with earnings based on commissions
  • Current Series 3 certification with no adverse marks on your license
  • Must enjoy working in a competitive office environment, spending hours on the phone talking with customers
  • Must be internally motivated and able to work independently 

 

Compensation 

This opportunity offers a guaranteed income during the introductory period. Following this period, Commodity Brokers work on 100% commission to make numbers well above $100,000. Our brokers are W-2 employees with a full benefit package including health insurance, short- and long-term disability, 401K with company match, paid travel expenses and beautiful newly remodeled offices.
