PRIDE Seeds is currently seeking a focused and self-motivated individual to join our dynamic team as a full-time permanent Ontario Sales Manager.
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Ontario Sales Manager works directly with the sales, marketing and product development teams around the promotion and positioning of PRIDE corn hybrids with dealers in Ontario.
Position will report to PRIDE Seeds Vice President, Commercial and be responsible for sales, business planning, development, recruiting and training and expanding dealer network.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Maximize sales and profits.
- Lead and coach District Sales Managers in Ontario.
- Successfully develop and implement strong sales plans, coaching and accountability for District Sales Managers throughout Ontario.
- Commit to sales coaching through ride-alongs and farm visits with the DSMs and customers in zones.
- Develop and execute a regional business plan.
- Maintain fiscal responsibility by operating within assigned budget.
- Represent PRIDE Seeds brand at farm shows, events and functions with sales and marketing team.
- Work with finance and VP Commercial to ensure sales programs are aligned with budgets.
- Responsible for developing, managing and adhering to sales budget with VP Commercial.
- Work with the Manager of Product Development and Agronomy in the evaluation of products and product needs for the PRIDE Seeds business.
- Work with industry influencers and media to keep them informed on PRIDE Seeds and our key technology and product offerings and to position yourself as a key contact for information on agronomy topics during the growing season.
- Support new PRIDE Seeds staff with relevant training, resources, and reliable support in-field or virtually.
- Take initiative to produce content and resources useful to the PRIDE Seeds District Sales Managers and Sales-Agronomy team and collaborate with the PRIDE Seeds Marketing Team to share relevant content for their use or produce content as it is required.
- Utilize digital tools and resources to drive sales.
- Promote the brand image and marketing programs through the Dealer sales force.
- Assist DSMs and Dealers in preparing and implementing their sales plans.
- Provide a communication link for the brand, with VP Commercial, DSMs and Selling Dealers.
- Advise the VP Commercial of all major market developments in the district that affect sales and/or personnel.
- Annually, evaluate all Dealers with the District Sales Managers to assist in expanding and upgrading the account base.
- Collect accounts receivable and follow up on accounts where necessary.
- Participate in product forecast meetings.
- Coordinate regional warehouses with DSMS for in season business. .
- Work with DSMs to recruit dealers in areas of need in the territory.
- Hiring and coordination of summer interns
- Ensure installation of signs, on fields, and plots, to build brand awareness is being performed.
- Project a positive image of PRIDE Seeds and AgReliant Genetics and act in accordance with the Company's Core Values

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Agriculture, Agronomy, or related field preferred.
- Minimum of five (5) years of sales experience sales/account management experience or 10 or more years of sales experience working in agriculture.
- Experience working in the seed industry.
- Certified Crop Advisor (CCA) / Ordre des Agronomes du Quebec preferred.
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
- Financial, time, and territory management abilities.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and projects simultaneously.
- Excellent leadership, people management, and relationship/team building skills.
- Demonstrated self-motivation, initiative, assertiveness, and results orientation.
- Knowledge of the seed industry preferred.
- Ability to successfully work in a fast-paced and changing environment.
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Ability to work required hours and travel as necessary, some overnight travel required.
- Ability to lift 60 lbs.
- Must have a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Ability to work outside in varying climates and conditions.
