We are a unique not-for-profit farm organization whose diverse membership has a significant presence in all agricultural areas of the province and across all major sectors. Our mission is to facilitate responsible economic management of soil, water, air and crops through development and communication of innovative farming practices. We are a leader in agricultural program delivery, including cost-share funding distribution, educational workshop offerings for farmers, and administration of on-farm applied research opportunities.
 
The Programs Department is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Programs Assurance Officer to contribute to the successful and timely delivery of our cost-share programs that support Ontario farmers in implementing best management and sustainability practices on their farms. As a Programs Assurance Officer, you will work collaboratively within the Program Delivery Team and under the management of the Director of Programs.
 
Must have Programs Assurance Experience
 
In this role you will:
• Provide accurate and timely data entry and validation of information related to cost-share claims and applications using internal data management systems;
• Provide quality assurance by identifying incomplete or inaccurate information, tracking, and following up on missing information with external clients:
• Develop, document, and adhere to standard operating procedures to manage, maintain, and monitor data within different system applications;
• Generate, format and validate reports to communicate decision outcomes and provide correspondence updates to program participants;
• Support quality control audits by retrieving claim documentation;
• Provide support to other staff and liaise with other departments as required, including support for User Acceptance Testing of data management systems and documenting test results and deviations;
• Stay up to date on OSCIA delivered cost-share funding programs and educational workshops to respond to telephone and email inquiries as needed;
• Participate in weekly team meetings;
• Perform other duties as assigned.
 
Qualifications/Experience:
• Post-secondary degree or diploma in a related field, such as business, agriculture or finance;
• Minimum 2 years of related work experience;
• Demonstrated critical and analytical skills are essential; Programs Quality Assurance Officer Full-time position Salary range: $45,000 to $65,000
• Proficiency with Microsoft 365 software, especially Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook; Proficiency with Adobe Acrobat is an asset;
• Ability to perform financial calculations and analyze financial data;
• Excellent organization and attention to detail;
• Ability to work independently and cooperatively in a team environment, consistently producing quality work and meeting deadlines under competing priorities, changing dynamics and differing programs;
• Ability to communicate clearly and directly with program participants by phone and email;
• Experience in cost-share program delivery, preparing claims and/or applications, or related documents is an asset;
• Agricultural knowledge and understanding of environmental and economic farm sustainability and best management practices in Ontario is an asset;
• French language skills are an asset;
• Valid Ontario Driver’s License.
