Based in in Calgary, Alberta or working from your home office, Nufarm is looking for a Regulatory Scientist who will manage federal regulatory activities for assigned projects and business segment(s). You will provide regulatory expertise, advice, and leadership to the business and applicable market segments. You will independently define complex regulatory strategies coordinate federal applications for registration of new products and new active ingredients, defend existing products through federal registration review process, and work closely with operations to manage any label updates.

 

What will you be doing?

  • Manage all PMRA regulatory activities for assigned projects including new products and amendments to labelling or composition.
  • Defend existing active ingredients and products through PMRA re-evaluation process.
  • Provide residue chemistry and/or metabolism expertise to other regional regulatory teams, and support to selected global projects.
  • Support Canadian and US regulatory teams by coordinating the generation of new residue chemistry and/or metabolism studies and by providing clear, well-founded residue chemistry and/or metabolism arguments, when needed, to defend new active ingredients and existing products.
  • Proactively identify potential regulatory issues on products or industry topics under assigned areas of responsibility and independently take lead on communicating to management and developing strategy to help address.
  • Other duties are performed under the guidance and direction of the Regulatory Affairs Manager. 

 

What do you bring?

You hold a bachelor’s degree or higher in life sciences, agriculture, or chemistry with residue chemistry and/or metabolism specialization, and related knowledge of regulatory requirements in the area of residues and metabolism of agrochemicals. Additionally, you have a minimum 5 years of experience in regulatory affairs and compliance, in the Agrochemical sector (e.g. Contract Research Organization, Regulatory Consultancy, AgChem Industry).  The ideal candidate will have 10 or more years of experience in Canadian Ag chemical regulatory affairs and compliance.  Working knowledge of the Canadian crop protection market and basic knowledge of EPA and FIFRA registration process and requirements an asset.
