The Warehouse Manager is responsible for controlling and directing the receiving, storage and distribution of all raw, work-in-process, and finished goods material to and from the warehouses. This includes personnel and equipment initiatives received or shipped uphold the Company quality standards for packaging and completeness
- ·Develop and maintain the supply chain strategies and performance goals that are consistent with corporate objectives. Develop and implement long and short-range strategies and operating methods to achieve objectives. Update and evaluate weekly KPIs.
- Be accountable for all controlled inventory and finished goods shipping and warehouse duties; including, receiving, stocking, quality verification, cycle counting, transfers, packaging, crating, truck loading, customs compliance, proper data entry and utilization with AS400 and other KNA system tools used for inventory control, tracking, and confirmation.
- Ensure accountability for all quality assurance, inventory accuracy, and timely transactions for inbound and outbound products. Work closely with the Quality Assurance team to resolve any quality issues identified through the final preparation for shipping.
- Control inventory accuracy by conducting physical cycle counts and reconciling with the data storage system. Determine root causes of inventory inaccuracies and expedite corrective action.
- Ensure that shipping/warehousing facilities operate in accordance with all local, state, and federal regulations.
- Ensure the regular cleanliness, maintenance, and organization of the shipping and warehousing buildings and grounds.
- Manage ordering and inventory of required shipping supplies (ie: blocking, strapping, t-hooks, etc.).
- Oversee the equipment requirements and maintenance programs for shipping/warehousing (ie: large/small forklifts, cranes, etc.). Develop proposals for capital expenditures and expense budgets.
- Oversee the safe operation of the large, specialty forklift for special project requests outside of the shipping function.
- Understand, execute, and proactively engage in KNA Sales Support and Logistic department procedures to ensure the most effective and consistent shipping operations.
- Follow all current KNA packaging standards to ensure safety in transportation and quality machine and parts deliveries.
- Provide timely response and resolution of quality, production, and personnel issues.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Directly supervise all Shipping and Warehouse employees. (Shipping and Warehouse/Material Handling employees, etc.). Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of the operations.
- Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the KNA policies and applicable laws including performance appraisals and disciplinary actions.
- General responsibilities include interviewing, hiring and training employees, planning, assigning, and directing work, performance evaluation, addressing employee concerns, and resolving problems.
- Communicate effectively with employees reporting to this position, as well as employees at all levels of the organization.
- Maintain proper staffing of the location that efficiently produces added value. Evaluate workload and move employees between positions to maintain efficiency.
- Promote and ensure safe work practices (including proper packaging/labeling of hazardous materials) and spearhead/support safety initiatives (ie: R3, etc.).
- A bachelor's degree in business or a related degree program and/or a minimum of five years shipping and warehouse management experience is preferred. Knowledge of farming/agriculture, experience in the heavy industrial or agricultural equipment industry, and knowledge of MS Office and computer system application in warehouse management is also preferred.
