Job Description:

The Dealer Development Specialist - Channel Management is an office position that supports the development and growth of the Kuhn North America (KUHN) dealer network in the U.S. and Canada to grow sales and support sales personnel to achieve overall Company goals.

EXPECTATIONS

·Develop and maintain a strong and committed distribution network by providing the necessary tools and support to KUHN dealers in the U.S. and Canada.

·Provide sales and market intelligence to Company management and field sales personnel.

·Continuously improve Dealer Development programs and tools to enhance dealer relations.

·Create accurate and usable business documents and reports in a timely manner.

·Maintain strict confidentiality of Company and dealer information.

·Collaborate with managers and employees to continuously improve systems and solve problems.

·Maintain a helpful and favorable image of Company.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Analyze and develop, through the efforts and assistance of Regional Sales Managers (RSMs), Territory Managers (TMs) and the Dealer Development Manager, a sales distribution network of committed and aggressive dealers of KUHN s products.
  • Work with RSMs, TMs and Accounting Department personnel to identify potential dealers who possess financial strength, business management skills and commitment to KUHN companies.
  • Maintain the dealer network through management of electronic client files, multiple mainframe applications, and well-organized processes for dealer appointments, terminations and dealership changes in ownership, business structure, legal name, etc.
  • Develop a sound understanding of state and provincial dealer laws, KUHN s Dealer Sales and Service Agreement, General Terms & Conditions, and security agreement; be able to successfully search and download documents from various Secretary of State business search sites and understand the differences in legal business structures used by dealers.
  • Utilize and continuously improve the CRM database as a basis to share dealer business information and dealer business plans. Serve as a resource in monitoring dealer performance. Collaborate with and assist RSMs and TMs in providing information that helps them serve as business consultants to the dealer.
  • Acquire, review and maintain dealership legal documents, ownership and officer information, retail certificates, tax exemption documents and W-9 forms; coordinate the annual collection of dealer financial statements.
  • Assist TMs in the development of dealer and territory business by sharing statistical data and reports that provide a comprehensive view of dealer and territory performance to aid in planning and decisions.
  • Work with Dealer Development team to plan and conduct the annual renewal of Dealer Sales and Service Agreements and dealer qualification process, including creation of the agreements, communication of qualification, documentation, and tracking.
  • Continue to improve Individual Access Management (IAM) tools that give dealers access to the KUHN Dealer Portal and provide dealer support as needed; participate in development of new Dealer Portal tools.
  • Develop and maintain an understanding of the agricultural equipment industry and dealership operations through industry publications and visits to dealers. During dealer visits, solicit feedback regarding dealer services and recommend/implement improvements as appropriate.
  • Review dealer CRM records, inventory, and other reports to maintain awareness of dealer activity in assigned regions.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

Education and/or Experience - A bachelor s degree in Ag business, Ag economics, business management or communications is preferred. Knowledge of the agricultural industry and strong business writing and oral communications skills are preferred. Advanced application knowledge and experience in word processing (Word) and spreadsheet applications (Excel), presentation software (PowerPoint), Adobe Acrobat, Internet, and e-mail is required.
