Job Description:

The Jewell Grain Company is a growing Ag business seeking an ambitious and successful Agronomy Salesman to join out team. This position would be at our Hicksville Ohio Agronomy location. This position includes traveling to farms, building and maintaining relationships with new and current customers and marketing our crop protection products, crop nutrients, seed and other products and services offered to improve the efficiency and profitability of our producers.


The Jewell Grain Company is a farmer cooperative headquartered in Jewell Ohio. We have 6 locations handling grain, fertilizer, chemicals, seed, feed, and custom application. We have 40 full-time and 2 part-time employees. Come to work for a great ag company.


Duties:

  • Build and maintain a relationship with customers through outstanding customer service.
  • Communicates with customers to identify and understand their service needs; identifies and suggest products and services to meet those needs.
  • Works to increase market share.
  • Works with the Branch Manager to develop sales goals and action plans.
  • Knows and explains benefits of products and services offered.
  • Recommend high yielding fertility programs, designed to maximize yield potential based off soil and/or tissue analysis results.
  • Promptly and regularly report to work and work overtime hours as needed.
  • Present a clean and professional appearance.
  • Work as a positive and respectful team player with co-workers at your location and other locations.
  • Employee is required to perform all other duties as directed.


Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 2 years in Ag Sales.
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Excellent sales and negotiation skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment.


Certificates, Licenses and Registrations:

  • Valid Driver’s license, willing to obtain a CDL within one year of employment.
  • Certified Crop Advisor would be beneficial.
  • Basic computer knowledge.
  • Strong agronomic knowledge chemicals and crop nutrients.
