QUALIFICATIONS:

 

- Proven experience in maintenance management, preferably in a dairy or agricultural setting.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and proficiency in equipment operation, troubleshooting, and repair.
- Welding and fabrication skills are highly desirable.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact effectively with diverse teams.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and procedures related to equipment maintenance and operation.
- Flexibility to work outside regular hours and respond to emergencies as needed.

 

JOB DESCRIPTION:

 

Hansen Agri-PLACEMENT is representing a large dairy operation located in Michigan who is searching for an experienced Maintenance Manager. The Maintenance Manager will be responsible for ensuring the efficient functioning of all equipment related to the dairy operations, including but not limited to parlor equipment, facilities, skid steers, mixers, tractors, and pay loaders. This position requires a strong background in preventive maintenance, fabrication, and the ability to operate and troubleshoot various types of equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

Equipment Maintenance: Develop and implement comprehensive maintenance programs for all equipment used in the dairy operation. Conduct regular inspections and preventive maintenance tasks to ensure optimal performance and longevity of equipment. Coordinate with vendors for repairs and replacement of parts as needed. Troubleshoot equipment issues and implement timely solutions to minimize downtime.

Fabrication and Repair: Utilize fabrication skills to design and construct equipment modifications or improvements. Perform welding, machining, and other fabrication tasks as necessary. Repair and refurbish equipment components to extend their lifespan and efficiency.

Shop Management: Oversee the maintenance shop, ensuring it is well-organized and equipped with the necessary tools and supplies. Maintain inventory of spare parts and supplies, and reorder as needed to minimize disruptions to operations. Implement safety protocols and ensure compliance with all relevant regulations.

Communication and Collaboration: Collaborate with other departments to coordinate maintenance activities with production schedules. Communicate effectively with management and staff regarding maintenance priorities, progress, and challenges.
