We are currently seeking a Sample Lab Intern to join our dynamic team, providing an opportunity to gain valuable hands-on experience in a laboratory environment.

Position Overview: As a Sample Lab Intern, you will play a crucial role in supporting our Sample Lab team. This internship offers exposure to diverse projects and compounding methods, fostering a collaborative environment where you will contribute to product development and problem-solving initiatives.

Roles & Responsibilities:
 

• Accurate Weighing and Lab Practices: Demonstrate precision in weighing procedures and adhere to good laboratory practices.
• Safety Protocols: Ensure safe handling of flavor materials using appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
• Equipment Calibration: Assist in calibrating laboratory equipment to maintain accuracy.
• Benchtop Flavor Production: Support the Sample Lab team in creating benchtop flavors and tasting solutions.
• Procedure Adherence: Follow defined instructions and procedures meticulously.
• Data Management: Record data accurately in departmental records and communicate results to project leads.
• Descriptor Tests: Aid in preparing and conducting descriptor tests for product evaluation.
• Raw Material Evaluation: Assist in evaluating raw materials used in flavor formulation.
• Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation related to samples, materials, and descriptor tests.
• Issue Resolution: Communicate errors to supervisors promptly and contribute to resolving issues as they arise.
• Inventory Management: Support inventory management of laboratory supplies, raw materials, and finished flavors.
• Compliance: Adhere to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and ensure laboratory maintenance and cleanliness.
• Certification Programs: Understand and implement relevant company-certified programs such as HACCP, NSF, SQF, and Food Defense as required.
• Additional Duties: Perform other duties as assigned by management.
   

Qualifications & Requirements:
 

• Education: Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree from an accredited University in Food Science, Chemistry, or a related field.
• Experience: Minimum one semester of laboratory experience, gained through coursework, internships, or previous employment.
   

Skills & Competencies:
 

• Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Good communication skills to report findings and discuss project status.
• Basic understanding of laboratory safety protocols and procedures.
• Proficiency in MS Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
