Joel Gott Wines is hiring seasonal harvest cellar interns with work beginning in August/Sep and running 2 to 4 months. This is a great opportunity to work in the cellar with grapes from all over California. We are open to candidates with or without cellar experience.


RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Perform additions and inoculations to juice/wine
  • Perform cap management, pump-overs
  • Cleaning and sanitizing equipment (tanks, barrels, drains, floors)
  • Manage harvest cellar activities and send reports to the supervisor
  • Rack/transfer wine from tanks and barrels
  • Forklift/Scissor driving
  • Pulling samples for tasting/analysis
  • Assist in fruit receiving and processing
  • Topping barrels
  • Pulling hoses and wine transfer set ups
  • Shoveling pomace from tanks
  • Operating winery equipment (pumps, fruit processing equipment, yeast re-hydrators, etc.)
  • Some driving between facilities for some candidates
  • Exposure to wine and cleaning chemicals


REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be 18 years or older
  • Hard working, ability to follow written and verbal instructions
  • Ability to work long hours, nights and weekends
  • Extensive walking and ability to lift and carry up to 50lbs
  • Exposure to machinery, forklifts and related production equipment
  • Exposure to outside elements and physical work (lifting, bending, climbing, squatting)
  • Must comply with all safety equipment requirements including respirator

 

Salary Range: $20.40 - $31.10

The starting pay will be based on several factors, including but not limited to experience, training, education, and geographic location.
