Post closes July 2, 2024

Performs engineering design tasks and calculations to support the and nature-based solutions programs, floodplain mapping, and other River Authority functions.

Immediately report injuries for prompt diagnosis and treatment. 3) Make regular suggestions for safety process improvements to support continuous safety improvement.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform design calculations related to drainage, storm water, wastewater, and nature-based solutions
  • Support the development of hydraulic models and floodplain mapping
  • Investigate bridge, culvert, and dam/detention pond structural data through the review of as-built plans, site visits, and imagery
  • Performs related work as required

 

SUPERVISORY REQUIREMENTS

This position does not directly supervise any employees

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Required Education and Experience

High School diploma or G.E.D. and enrollment in college courses in engineering is required. Coursework in civil, environmental, or agricultural engineering is preferred.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Experience with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint) is required. Experience or course work in Geographic Information Systems (GIS), CADD, and/or HEC-RAS is preferred.
  • Must be able to function in a principle-based organization that has a culture built on character and SARA Core Values of Stewardship, Integrity, and Excellence.
