Fertilizer Dealer Supply, Inc. is seeking an intelligent, experienced leader with a strong record of organizational success to lead a 57 year family owned distribution business. The ideal candidate will be a strong team builder that has successfully developed leadership and support teams. An enthusiastic leader that can develop strategies to optimize performance, earnings and the value of the company. The new CEO should have a strong understanding of financial and operational performance metrics and how to adjust plans to meet a changing environment.

 

Objectives of this role

  • Effectively communicate strategies and decisions to the FDS stakeholders to build trust through transparency and insight
  • Continue the FDS legacy as a destination employer by sharing success with the team and valuing retention
  • Deliver strong and steady financial performance regardless of macroeconomic trends that influence industry behaviors
  • Envision paths of future growth both horizontally and vertically while implementing initiatives to achieve that vision
  • Build and lead the next generation of company leadership by successfully deploying the existing team into the proper roles

 

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute an annual strategic plan while analyzing its impact and adjusting goals and initiatives if needed
  • Lead with actions of integrity and service for all internal and external customers to bear witness
  • Analyze and evaluate operational efficiencies while incorporating accountability that drives improvement
  • Provide effective oversight of banking and investing activities while ensuring proper deployment of assets for capital expenditures and infrastructure improvements
  • Mentor, support and evaluate the leadership team as well as the location managers to ensure all are tracking toward the common goal

 

Required skills and qualifications

  • 10 year history of business success with team management experience
  • Demonstrated success of planning and organizing
  • Great communication skills and the ability to lead
  • Enthusiasm for business and life in general
  • B.S or B.A.

 

Preferred skills and qualifications

  • Understanding or experience in agricultural
  • Distribution experience
