Salary Range (plus eligible to receive a performance based incentive, applicable to position) :

$148,902 - $201,456

 

Public policy and legislative process expertise needed:
With your extensive knowledge of public policy issues, you’ll manage the preparation of responses to questions in parliament and notes for senior executives in federal departments and agencies. You’ll also work with counterparts in the minister’s and members’ offices and with parliamentary and senate committees.

This position is designated bilingual (English and French), and the successful candidate must be able to communicate in both of Canada’s official languages.

 

What you’ll do:

  • Develop and implement an effective government relations strategy
  • Advise FCC senior leaders on optimizing relations with the federal government
  • Recommend strategies for dealing with public policy issues
  • Prepare briefing notes for FCC senior leaders and the Board
  • Liaise with colleagues on messaging for special interest groups and other stakeholders
  • Oversee the management of the customer complaint process
  • Respond to requests for information

What you’ll need:

  • A bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (for example, business administration, political science, public management or public administration) and at least 10 years of related experience (or an equivalent combination of education and experience)
  • Extensive functional knowledge of public policy issues, government, parliamentary and legislative processes and procedures
  • In-depth knowledge of FCC's policies, legislation, stakeholders and history, and of the agriculture industry
