About the role

Thomas Elder Sustainable Agriculture (TESA) is looking for a Business Development and Program Manager to join the Elders team on a permanent, full-time basis.

This unique and exciting role is responsible for scoping, pursuing, and overseeing delivery of the TESA project portfolio. The successful candidate will be responsible for engaging multiple stakeholders across the Elders business to develop and manage high-value commercially focussed proposals and applications for agricultural research, extension and commercial projects.

Responsibilities
  • Proactive business development for project partnerships with relevant funding and commercial partners
  • Development of portfolio approach to agricultural research, extension and commercial projects, aligned with business objectives
  • Identification and creation of strategic funding opportunities
  • Financial analysis of opportunities to ensure commercial viability of projects, including scoping further business development and commercialisation opportunities
  • Development and transaction of commercial business cases with aligned project delivery pathway within the Elders business
  • Preparation and management of project submissions and applications (grants & tenders)
  • Oversight of project portfolio, ensuring successful project governance, delivery and reporting


About you
  • Experience in providing program management or business development leadership, developing strategy and delivering beneficial growth and organisational change
  • Experience in the coordination, design, negotiation and submission of commercially focussed agricultural projects and research and extension business cases and bids
  • Strong knowledge of the Australian agriculture industry
  • Experience in working with relevant government and industry funding and delivery partners
  • Experience in liaising with a wide range of commercial agribusiness, industry, government and research entities
  • Sound Financial, Project Management and reporting skills
