Our client- a grower, packer, and shipper of fresh specialty produce-is searching for a Project Manager. Reporting to the Operations Manager, this position is responsible for driving the development and execution of strategic initiatives and projects to achieve the organization's business objectives from inception to completion.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Develop and implement long-term projects in alignment with the organization's mission, vision, and values. This includes but is not limited to acquisition of cold storage facilities, capital equipment and (farming) implement purchases.
• Plan, execute, and monitor strategic projects to meet the project requirements while controlling budget, scope of work, and the timeline for a project as directed by senior management.
• Create benchmarks and timelines to track and properly sequence every project to include funding and execution and completion dates and when deliverables are met.
• Utilize and operate project management software as required to handle a project as it moves through production stages from planning to closure. Manage changes to the project scope, schedule, and costs and measuring performance.
• Develop documentation of new and existing policies and procedures.
• Support the development and implementation of annual budgets.
• Identify and pursue new business projects to facilitate growth, safety, food quality, and efficiencies.
• Negotiate contracts, agreements, and partnerships associated with project requirements.
• Coordinate internal resources and third parties/vendors.
• Report and escalate any project issues to senior management as they occur.

DESIRED PROFILE:

• Prior experience managing projects for agriculture, large residential complexes, farming, production, or warehouse operations
• Experience with software tools such as ERP, MRP, APS, and Project Management Software
• Three to four years of Project Management experience
• Bachelors in Engineering, Agriculture, Business, or related field of study
• Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification is an asset
