Job Description:

Our client, a global agri-chemical company, is searching for a Technical Sales Support Specialist to join their team based remotely in the Eastern Corn Belt region (IL, IN, OH and MI).


Job Description:

The Technical Sales Support Specialist will support the sales team and customers while also managing research through university and contract researchers.


RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provides technical support to the Sales team and customers as needed.
  • Co-ordinate research with the Regional Manager and/or customers and national R&D team.
  • Plan, run, harvest and/or coordinate product development trials in sales area.
  • Train and present data to sales representatives, customers or conferences as needed.
  • Provides input and guidance on sales literature, product guides, and competitive positioning strategies.
  • Establishes and builds relationships with independent and university researchers, technical consultants, and associations.
  • Attend and represent the company at shows as needed.
  • Identifies portfolio gaps and propose new product/business opportunities and actions.
  • Comply with all licensing/certificates in states where needed to execute tasks.
  • Traveling with 25% overnighting will be required.



DESIRED PROFILE:

  • B.S., M.S. or Ph.D. in agronomy, plant sciences or related subject with relevant experience in a commercial organization.
  • Technical competency in agronomic crops, cultural practices and supporting technologies relevant to Mid-West and North-East USA crops.
  • ARM experience is a plus.
  • Strong technical knowledge of crop protection and nutrition programs on relevant crops.
  • Experience with product development through research trials, statistical plot layout and analyses.
  • Good work ethic and ability to communicate and interact with growers and customers.
  • Willingness and ability to operate application equipment and conduct field trials.
  • Writing, research and statistical analyses skills are helpful. Experience with ARM statistical software strongly recommended.
  • Ability to set individual priorities and plan daily schedule, while working both in-person and remotely with others towards a team goal.
  • Proficient with Office software; PowerPoint, Excel and Word
