We're hiring for Trait Integration Graduate

As Trait Integration Graduate you will be responsible for supporting and assisting on all trait conversion activities.  This role encompasses greenhouse and field nursery operations with a strong emphasis on quality, safety, and innovation. The successful candidate will be a proactive, hands-on contributor with a passion for crop production and a commitment to operational excellence to deliver quality results.

It has been playing a great role on seed innovation, farmers trainings and participation on improving seed industry through cooperating with other stakeholders.

Your Challenge:

Nursery operations

  • Perform day-to-day tasks in growth chambers and greenhouses:

    • Planting, transplanting, pollinating, and general plant care

    • Tissue sampling

    • Phenotypic & genotypic evaluations and selections

    • Pest and disease scouting

    • Harvesting and threshing

    • Managing inventory

    • Seed preparation

  • Collect and record high-quality data

  • Assist research staff with ongoing projects

  • Manage an independent research project and present findings to the intern group

  • Support all corn trait integration efforts

  • Travel to other nursery sites across RSA regions as needed

  • Work overtime, weekends, and public holidays during peak periods
     

Team Leadership & Collaboration

  • Supervise assistants and temporary employees.

  • Provide training, guidance, and daily support to TI partners and nursery staff.

  • Foster a diverse, inclusive, and multidisciplinary team environment.

Quality, Safety & Compliance

  • Ensure full implementation of quality management protocols.

  • Enforce safety operating procedures for all routine tasks.

  • Work with Genetically Modified Organisms in compliance with regulations and policies.

  • Maintain a clean, safe, and orderly work environment.

Key Stakeholders and Interactions:

Interaction with Trait integration team members, Breeding Team and Breeders

To Grow What Matters, You Will Need

  • BSc or Honors in Plant Breeding, Genetics, Agriculture, Agronomy, Horticulture, Plant Biology, or related field.

  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel during planting/harvesting campaigns.

  • Fluent in English with strong communication skills across diverse cultural backgrounds.

  • Computer proficiency
