We're hiring for Strategic Sourcing Analyst in Johnston, IA. Learn how you can be our voice in the conversation about the future of agriculture.

This position is responsible for supporting Corteva Seeds operations with strategic sourcing, contract management and supplier management activities and analysis as part of the Strategic Sourcing and Supplier Management team. Areas of support will include but are not limited to, External Manufacturing, & Producer Services. Position will work to support Global Strategic Sourcing and Seed Production and Supply Chain organizations in reliable supply, cost advantage enablement, project management and key stakeholder resourcing.

Primary Responsibilities include: 

  • Support Strategic Sourcing leaders with sourcing, cost, and supply risk analysis
  • Execute category sourcing strategy as provided by Strategic Sourcing and Category leads
  • Partner with business stakeholders to understand business sourcing requirements, developing execution recommendations to improve cost to serve and supply reliability
  • Analyzing spend reports to identify opportunities for strategic suppliers; and develop and implement savings projects to achieve results 
  • Utilize the Strategic Sourcing Process and associated governance protocol for sourcing projects.
  • Communicate effectively with cross functional leaders on risks, opportunities, and run the business requirements
  • Develop, implement and execute a supply strategy based on market conditions, business/supply chain needs and available resources 
  • Drive for results, evaluate business and market opportunities targeting on best results for the total Seed Business.
  • Utilize Problem-solving skills to deliver innovative and competitively-advantaged solutions
  • Negotiate pricing, payment and delivery terms and execute contract agreements as appropriate. 
  • Support global teams on negotiations.
  • Develop knowledge of Procurement market drivers for the portfolio and manage accordingly.
  • Appropriately use the company tools to efficiently run Sourcing projects including RFx.
  • Work with functional and business partners to understand business requirements and align the sourcing strategy and implementation plans to implement Sourcing projects.
  • Monitor and drive supplier performance against key performance indicators. 
  • Create value and develop optimization through Supplier Relationship Management
  • Manage Supplier Relationships including the commercial relationship; resolution of escalated issues. 
  • Understand and practice appropriate work process governance and compliance.
  • Look for opportunities to support functional initiatives and improve productivity. 
  • Manage several Procurement Categories at once, each with their own strategic plan and outcomes

Qualifications:


Education / Certifications / Experience Requirements: 

  • Bachelor's Degree in Ag Business, Business, Supply Chain Management, Engineering or equiv. field.
  • 6+ years of proven Sourcing, Supply Chain, or Production experience in a similar role
  • Work experience should include membership in dynamic, results oriented teams; work with multiple functions or businesses.
  • Experience with information technology and systems supporting supply chain activities including proficiency with ERP systems.  Experience with SAP an advantage.
  • CPSM/APICs certification a plus.
