We're hiring for a Seed Production Research and Characterization Producibility Scientist - Data Science - Africa

As Seed Production Research and Characterization Producibility Scientist - Data Science - Africa you will identify, assess, and develop new scientific concepts and/or technologies to provide solutions that improve producibility and reduce variability in Corteva Seed Production. Manages scientific, technical and data projects, coordinating with other professionals and support personnel within Production, Commercial and SPD to accomplish producibility objectives. Defines approach to scientific, technical, and/or data problems, developing, testing, and validating hypotheses.
You will be responsible for the following.
Design, develop, and optimize scalable data pipelines to ingest, process, and transform large volumes of structured and unstructured data from various sources. Deliver, implement and support new agronomy and/or plant breeding technologies and solutions within seed production research and characterization to drive seed production research and characterization objectives. Ensure data quality and integrity by establishing data validation and cleansing processes. Responsible for analyzing and interpreting field data, with attention towards data quality, and specialized maintenance of Production Research field trials and parent characterization plot trials at regional research hubs. Deploying and managing big data and cloud-based technologies and data management best practices. Work both independently and cross-functionally with multiple stakeholders to prioritize projects and resources, refine project scope, expectations, and potential benefits. Understand and apply the benefits of precision agriculture, data analytics, field imaging, and new technologies to high quality field research. Staying updated with the latest trends and advancements in data engineering and recommending innovative solutions to enhance data infrastructure.
