Responsibilities - What You Will do:

  • Technical lead on an agile development team consisting of software engineers, business analysts, product owners, and test automation engineers?.
  • Analyze, design, and develop a variety of new and exciting?high-performance cloud-based software solutions for our business partners.
  • Maintain and support the team's existing applications.
  • Create an environment that fosters creativity, innovation, and engineering leadership.
  • Mentor others and help promote coding, testing, and deployment best practices.
  • Engage with other technology leaders, architects, and the Community of Practices to help build and maintain standards and shared solutions.
  • Show a passion to continuously learn, improve, and share your knowledge and stay informed with the latest software development industry trends.
  • Contribute to the technical and strategic success of Software Engineering 

What Skills You Need:

  • 6+ years combined experience architecting and developing high-quality full-stack web applications.
  • Proven track record delivering solutions on time, in scope, and within budget.
  • Possess excellent software architecture design, problem?solving skills, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional engineering teams and business partners.
  • Experience architecting complex solutions using object-oriented languages, web development frameworks, databases, and cloud technologies.
  • Experience with coding and architecture design patterns, principles, and practices.
  • Experience using infrastructure as code in a cloud environment, AWS preferred.
  • Experience with cloud CI/CD pipelines and related development tools, Gitlab preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills including sharing technical information in a non-technical fashion.

Additional Skills - Desirable, but not required:

  • Background or interest in biology, chemistry, genetics, or agriculture and the ability to understand and the desire to solve complex scientific problems.
  • Experience with web application development including RESTful API Services.
  • Experience with modern programming languages like Python, Typescript, and C#.
  • Experience with web development frameworks like React and Angular.
  • Experience with relational database schema design and object-relational mapping.
  • Experience with developing high-performance, high-throughput data systems.
  • Experience with multiple agile development methodologies.
  • Experience collaborating with third party vendors.
