Our purpose is to enrich the lives of those who produce and those who consume, ensuring progress for generation to come. Our inspiration is to be an innovator, driving the next generation of agriculture products that help farms and farmers flourish and through partnering with society becoming the most trusted partner in the global agriculture and food community.

We are seeking a visionary and technically skilled Senior Data Scientist to join the our team at Corteva Agriscience. This role combines advanced AI/ML and optimization science with product leadership for digital twin systems that drive core decisions in the end to end pipeline, including demand, production, logistics, and resource planing. You will act as a bridge between business problems and AI-based solutions, ensuring our models create real-world impact and are scalable across global operations.

What You'll Do:

  • Lead the development of digital twin architectures that blend physical processes with real-time data and AI models for simulation, forecasting, and decision-making.

  • Translate complex and evolving business questions into mathematical optimization, AI/ML, and simulation frameworks by working closely with global stakeholders across R&D, supply chain, operations, and finance.

  • Serve as a product owner for digital twin-based solutions: managing roadmaps, defining success metrics, and ensuring model usability and adoption in production settings.

  • Design and implement scalable, cloud-native solutions using Databricks Lakehouse, including Delta Lake, Unity Catalog, MLflow, and streaming pipelines.

  • Integrate diverse modeling approaches, including:

    • Mixed Integer Programming (MIP), metaheuristics, constraint programming.

    • Deep Reinforcement Learning (RL), multi-agent planning, causal modeling.

    • Bayesian methods, Monte Carlo simulation, and simulation-optimization loops.

  • Develop and orchestrate multi-resolution simulation environments (e.g., AnyLogic, SimPy) that complement optimization layers and enable closed-loop digital twin systems.

  • Champion cross-functional collaboration, communicating model insights, trade-offs, and recommendations to technical and non-technical audiences.

What Skills You Need:

  • Ph.D. or Master's in Operations Research, Computer Science, Industrial Engineering, Applied Math, or a related quantitative field.

  • 5+ years of experience applying optimization and AI/ML in business-critical environments.

  • Proven track record in developing and productizing digital twin systems, from concept to scale.

  • Deep understanding of operations modeling (routing, scheduling, resource allocation) and experience with solvers like Gurobi, CPLEX, or OR-Tools.

  • Experience acting as a technical product manager or lead scientist, owning problem definitions, stakeholder engagement, and delivery success.

  • Strong experience with Databricks, Spark, Delta Lake, SQL, and Python (R or C++ a plus).

  • Familiarity with modern ML paradigms: supervised, RL, causal inference, and foundation models.

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, capable of driving consensus across disciplines.

Nice to Have:

  • Experience with edge-device integration, IoT, or geospatial-temporal modeling within digital twin systems.

  • Prior work involving cross-domain modeling (e.g., agronomy + manufacturing + supply chain).

  • Publications or open-source contributions in relevant optimization, ML, or digital twin frameworks.

  • Experience working in large-scale agricultural, industrial, or supply chain planning domains.

About You:

You thrive at the intersection of data science, systems engineering, and product thinking. You're excited about operationalizing AI within real-world systems and bridging the divide between mathematical rigor and business execution. You enjoy shaping next-generation decision intelligence platforms and leading initiatives that create tangible value from data and models.
