We're hiring for Seed Production Intern
Learn how you can be our voice in the conversation about the future of agriculture.
As Seed Production Intern you will be responsible for learning and assisting with all seed production related activities to build necessary skills in seed production.
You Will Be Part of Growing Team
Research and Development
Your Challenge:
Help with the efficient workflow of multi crops (Sunflower and Corn) on the research farm.
Work together with staff effectively between all farm activities (Inventory, Packing, Planting, Pollinations, Harvesting and Processing).
Will need to do quality pollinations- hands on-understanding basic breeding concepts.
Learn and apply data collection such as flowering data.
Inventory management such as record updating and discarding of seed.
Supervision of all field teams (permanent and seasonals)
Scouting of plant diseases, pests and weeds and rouging of fields to ensure seed quality.
Field Management- Printing and Tagging of all nursery experiments across crops.
Assist in sterilization activities, leaf punching and oil testing in sunflower crops
Assist with safety related activities such as safety 5 min talks.

To Grow What Matters, You Will Need
Bachelor's degree in agriculture or Scientific related field (Plant Breeding/ Crop Production)
Ability to solve problems and build consensus
Excellent interpersonal/communication skills are required for fostering teamwork, enhancing a good working environment, and effectively developing strong working relationships with a diverse group of people
Ability to prioritize multiple tasks, work after hours in season and work outside in all kinds of weather
Proficiency in Office software such as spreadsheets, mail, calendar, and presentation software.
