The Scientific Compute Platform team supports compute platforms used throughout R&D.  This includes developing high-level data strategies, supporting cloud and on-premise computing, advising and enforcing application security, providing internal tools to developers, and validating software systems. 

What You'll Do:

With the help of a mentor, depending on your experience and interests, you will do one or more of:

• Work with the Scientific Compute Platform team to support researchers and data scientists
• Root-cause and resolve end-user issues as they arise
• Monitor and analyze Kubernetes cluster efficiency and propose methods of improvement
• Examine, test, and recommend tools for advanced cluster management, monitoring, alerting, and orchestration
• Work with data scientists to improve the end-user experience

What Skills You Need:
One or more of: 

• Good in-depth understanding of an operating system, either Windows or Linux. 
• Experience in AWS cloud services. 
• Understanding of Infrastructure as Code (e.g. Terraform) 
• Experience with GitLab or git in general
• Familiarity with Kubernetes, Docker, or containerization 
• Good problem-solving skills
• Familiarity with cybersecurity, including authentication, authorization, and application security
