Responsibilities – What You Will Do:

Implement detailed, task level, day to day Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) programs.
Ensure that the safety and industrial hygiene aspects of the department’s / site’s Operating Discipline are adequate and applied to achieve safety performance goals.
Serve as the primary plant contact for EHS related items and information as well as supporting industrial hygiene programs.
Coach teams and individuals on EHS related tasks and activities.
Assist in developing and achieving department and site EHS goals.
Participate in the safety related reviews of projects, management of change reviews, assist, conduct and document investigations of incidents and ensure follow up actions to prevent re-occurrences are addressed.
Perform audits and self-assessments on EHS standards and programs, including safe work permit reviews, isolation of energy reviews, elevated work reviews, etc.
Conduct safety walks of process areas and active jobs ensuring that safety standards and safe work practices are being followed through observation and interaction. Assist Operations or Maintenance with correcting any issues that are identified during the safety walk.
Actively participate in department morning meetings; including developing exciting, fresh, and engaging content.
Complete assigned training, document reviews, and compliance tasks.

You have your High School Diploma or GED.

You value the safety of yourself and your co-workers and will eagerly participate in safe work practices, on-the-job safety, and work safety programs.
You are willing and able to work in environments that include: climbing stairs/ladders and working at heights, standing or walking for extended periods of time, frequent bending and reaching, working outdoors and in inclement weather.
You are proficient with computers and Microsoft Office programs.
You have established credibility due to your 2 years of experience in production, operations, or manufacturing safety, or related field so you are easily able to gain the trust of employees and teams.
You have experience implementing and coaching on safety programs, policies, and procedures.
You bring fresh eyes to the business and value from your previous experience with audits and observations.
Some occasional overtime may be required to meet business needs, outage, turn arounds, etc.
Preferences – It Would Be Great If You Have:
Associate’s or Degree in Safety or related field. OSHA Training Certification(s).
