We're hiring for Seed Regulatory Specialist/Manager - Japan
Purpose:
Obtain the import approval of genetically modified crops through risk assessment required by Japanese government. For that purpose, the regulatory specialist is expected to drive preparation of registration dossier in a timely manner through communicating closely with the global regulatory team and respond to inquiries from regulatory stakeholders based on solid scientific knowledge. Also expected to collaborate with internal/external stakeholders in outreach activities to develop a favorable regulatory environment in Japan.
Interacts with:
Internally, seed global regulatory/regulatory science team and other country registration teams. Externally, officials of regulatory agencies, regulatory committee members, and regulatory personnel in other companies.
Key responsibilities:
· Lead preparation and submission of registration dossiers and obtain regulatory approval for the import of genetically modified crop.
· Partner with global regulatory team to align the regulatory direction with Corteva strategy.
· Follow Japanese regulatory trends and represent corporate interests in, and sharing agenda of, regulatory committees of industry associations.
· Manage regulatory issues of company's products and develop trusted partnerships with local regulators and stakeholders to support our regulatory success.
Qualifications:
· Master or advanced degree with specialization in Biological or Agricultural Sciences.
· Strong understanding of Biology.
· Experience in regulatory or research work in plant biology is preferred.
· Strong problem solving and scientific logical thinking skills, efficient and well-organized with excellent attention to detail and ability to manage a diverse workload.
· Fluency in English (spoken and written) with native Japanese language ability.
· Agility, proactivity, and dynamism are essential in a growing international company.
Location & travels:
This role will be based in Tokyo. We provide Corteva Flexible Works Arrangements which allow you to work from home and in the office. Travel will be required to visit trial locations, conferences, relevant industry events & internal meetings/trainings.
