Job Description:

Corteva Agriscience is currently seeking a Research Associate to join the Field & Controlled Environments Team within Seeds Regulatory Science. The position supports the successful registration of Corteva biotech products through assisting with regulatory field and controlled environments studies following Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Good Laboratory Practices (GLPs).

As a Research Associate, the individual in this position will assist in the Seed Lab including receiving, processing, distributing and inventory maintenance. This person will also assist the Controlled Environments team in the growth chambers, greenhouses, and field to meet study and request timelines. They will also assist with the processing of plant material and supply preparation for all regulatory trials. They will follow Corteva and lab procedures to meet regulatory compliance & GLP requirements.

What You'll Do:

  • Assist in handling Regulatory seed lots required for global Regulatory studies. This includes assisting in seed receipt, inventory, sub-sampling, cleaning, treating, packet printing, filling, scanning, devitalizing, grinding, shipping, sample retention, and discard utilizing Corteva databases and compliance systems.
  • Assists the Controlled Environments team in the growth chamber, greenhouse, and field in support of Seeds Regulatory Science studies (e.g., leaf punching, plant maintenance and sample collection).
  • Assist in sample handling and processing used for data generation within regulatory report submissions.
  • Assists with other team activities including handling of bulk grain lots and grain diet preparation work for animal feeding studies.
  • Responsible for understanding, complying with, and using all required Corteva database systems and relevant Corteva compliance and GLP policies, when conducting seed and grain activities, plant handling and discarding, and sample distribution.

What Skills You Need:

  • Bachelor's degree in agronomy, plant science, biological science, or related field is preferred.
  • Ability to function successfully both independently and in a high-performing team.
  • Experience maintaining equipment and associated records.
  • Excellent detail-oriented organizational and oral and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Smartsheet software is preferred.
  • Ability to produce and maintain process and facility-related data which meets the requirements of EPA GLPs.
  • Controlled Environments (greenhouse/growth chamber), field, and laboratory experience is preferred.
  • Inventory management experience is preferred.
