Corteva Agriscience is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Regional Breeding Support Specialist to join the Europe Seed Product Development (EUSPD) team for Corn. Based out of one of our European research centers, this position plays a critical role in supporting our breeding pipeline through experimental planning, data curation, genetic analysis, and the integration of discovery science into applied programs.
The successful candidate will collaborate with breeding scientists to support regional corn breeding objectives. This role enables informed decision-making and contributes to the development and validation of novel breeding methodologies and strategies.
Create, curate, and validate breeding datasets, including running and maintenance of analysis pipelines, decision datasets, and estimation set repositories to support breeding and advancement decisions.
Assist with experimental planning, design, and execution to support predictive breeding and native trait strategies.
Facilitate population development submissions by coordinating inputs, ensuring data accuracy, and aligning with program goals.
Coordinate genotyping submissions and conduct genetic purity analysis.
Collaborate with breeding scientists to integrate predictive models and analytical tools into breeding pipelines.
Assist in the implementation and execution of novel breeding methodologies and decision strategies to improve genetic gain.
Maintain accuracy and consistency of breeding program information across digital platforms and enterprise databases.
Master's degree in Plant Breeding, Biology, Genetics, or a related field.
Strong technical and analytical skills, particularly in managing and interpreting large biological datasets.
Proficiency with data management tools, spreadsheets, and enterprise databases.
Familiarity with basic principles of genetic analysis in applied plant breeding.
Strong attention to detail, documentation practices, and data quality standards.
Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with a variety of stakeholders.
Experience with Corteva's proprietary breeding software systems and analytics pipelines.
3+ years of experience in plant breeding, applied genetics, or R&D data management.
Proficiency in scripting computer languages used for data analysis (e.g., R, Python).
Knowledge of statistics, quantitative genetics and predictive breeding methodologies.
