Seed Quality Testing Laboratory Manager

Corteva Agriscience is a leader in delivering novel and sustainable solutions for the future of agriculture. We are seeking a Seed Quality Testing Laboratory Manager to exert leadership at our Seed Quality Testing laboratory in Tipton, IN. The incumbent will be responsible and accountable for implementation of Corteva Quality Management system at Tipton testing laboratory to ensure site safety, timely processing of testing samples, and delivery accurate results to customers.

The incumbent will lead a team of talented employees and oversee operations of one of largest SQT facilities in the world. With rest of Quality organization, he/she will deliver a culture of Quality at Corteva that focuses on customer through active engagement, board collaboration, and continuous improvements.

Responsibilities - What you will do:

Tactical execution of Quality Management System at site. Manage lab operations, budget, workforce, and make timely adjustment to meet overall business objectives and Quality strategy. Oversee site talent strategy, compliance, and safety program to ensure continued operation, safety, and freedom-to-operation. Develop, monitor respective site performance plan, drive continuous improvements, and standardization across Quality organization when applicable. Define site specific testing strategy with stakeholders on testing strategy and communicate changes. Communication, investigation, escalation, and conclusions of concerns, issues related to quality, operation, personnel, and equipment.

Job Qualification

Education and Experience: 

  • Minimum of a scientific, agricultural, or engineering bachelor's degree or four-year degree with equivalent in biology, biotechnology, agronomy, engineering, or life science.
  • 5+ years of experience, with minimum 3 years direct management of a high-through-out testing laboratory, seed quality testing experience highly preferred.
  • Knowledge of Quality Management System, Seed Quality Testing rules and regulations, Seed Production and Supply Chain, and Biotechnology product. 
  • Plan and execute budget and LRP CAPEX.
  • Developing people and teams.
