The selected candidate will serve a 1-year post-doctorate position (with the option to extend) to study microbial/plant/insect protein ID and post translational modifications using mass spectrometry. PTM studies will be focused on problems unique to Corteva's agricultural products. For example, the glycosylation patterning of the midgut of western corn rootworm potentially allows the evasion of our agrochemical products. Another example includes understanding the plant immune system, which involves a host of protein pattern recognition receptors that are scattered with various chemical modifications (phosphorylation, ubiquitylation, SUMOylation, glycosylation and lipidation). Finally, they will develop proteomics tools that aide our biological's pipeline (both from a workflow and a PTM
