Corteva has an exciting opportunity for a Production Technician to join our team at our Ridgetown, Canada facility!
- The position is for the Ridgetown facility, but you must be willing to report to our Chatham facility if required depending on workloads at each site ***
What You'll Do:
- The role of a Production Technician is versatile and may encompass tasks related to the seed production plant, harvesting, receiving, conditioning, treater operation, packaging, warehousing, returns/rework, and shipping, as well as general repair and maintenance as directed by the supervisor
- Harvesting duties include activities such as green corn/sheller/dryer operations and sorting
- Packaging tasks involve reworking products and bagging.
- Safely operating equipment using PLC computer automation software.
- Entering data such as testing results, downtime, and quality concerns into SAP/R3 and HMI programs
- Warehouse responsibilities may include inventory management and specific inventory transactions using forklifts
- Ensuring compliance with Quality and Safety requirements, including developing and reviewing procedures
Education:
- You have your High School Diploma/GED OR are willing and able to obtain your GED within twelve (12) months of hire as a condition of employment.
What Skills You Need:
- You are willing and able to work in a variety of areas (field, plant, warehouse)
- You are comfortable with technology and possess a good computer aptitude including the use of Microsoft Applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.), and are willing and able to learn other company-specific applications as required
- You are willing and able to perform the physical aspects of the job with or without reasonable accommodation: climb and/or work in elevated areas, stand and sit for extended periods, work outdoors and indoors in hot, cold, wet, and dry conditions, lift up to fifty (50) lbs., and perform work that involves repetitive motion and lifting
- You can work independently as well as in a team environment
- You have good written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
- You have high diligence, can multitask, maintain an organized workplace, and have excellent critical thinking skills

- You are willing and able to work a rotating shift, on-call availability, and overtime hours, which include nights and weekends during seasonal peaks to support production demand
What Makes You Stand Out:
- Two-Year Technical or Associates Degree in Agriculture, Manufacturing, Operations, or a related field
- You have one (1) year of education and/or experience in operations, manufacturing, agriculture, or related industry
- General knowledge and/or experience with field and/or agriculture equipment (plows, tractors, forklifts, etc.)
