Corteva has an exciting opportunity for a Production Specialist (Team Lead) to join our team at our Chatham, Ontario Canada facility!

What You'll Do:

  • Utilize your leadership skills by leading, coordinating, and working in all positions of Plant Operations, with focused responsibilities around the treating and packaging of all crops.
  • Maintain standards in the areas of housekeeping, safety, attendance, operational discipline, process, safety management, and scheduled and unscheduled maintenance. for communications up and down the line and for assuring that communications from team members are accurate and complete
  • Support the oversight of harvest, receiving, conditioning, treating, bagging, and warehousing operation to maximize material flow and process efficiencies
  • Monitor product quality and ensure activities meet the requirements of the Quality Plan
  • Ensure direct materials are staged for next process order (tags, bags, boxes, treatment, etc.)
  • Assist in managing bulk and bagged seed inventories
  • Assist with product movement activities
  • Ensure operator Preventative Maintenance is completed
  • Supports forward plans for oncoming shift
  • Ensure availability of equipment and materials
  • Provide input and assistance to supervisors when planning improvement projects
  • Provide input for workforce planning and development scheduling
  • Ensure appropriate records, samples, documents, or reports are completed as required/assigned
  • Support continuous improvement and special projects as assigned
  • assist Technicians in multiple production, warehouse, field and logistic areas on a single shift to ensure that production goals are accomplished May assume the duty of the Shift Supervisor for the shift in their absence.
  • Support the adherence to safety, quality, and site policies.

Education:

  • High School Diploma/GED
  • Two-Year agricultural diploma or related field of study is highly preferred.  

What Skills You Need:

  • You possess a minimum of two (2) to four (4) years' direct experience in manufacturing, operations, production, agricultural, or related field
  • You have previous supervisor or leadership experience, and/or have effectively demonstrated leading a team without official authority
  • Demonstrated knowledge and firsthand experience across various seed operations and operations programs such as SeedPro, SAP, MES, Apriso, etc.
  • You are willing and able to do the following with or without reasonable accommodation: Climb and/or work in elevated areas, Stand, and sit for extended periods, work outdoors and indoors in hot, cold, wet, and dry conditions, lift up to fifty (50) lbs., and perform work that involves repetitive motion and lifting
  • You have a valid Driver's License 
  • You demonstrate integrity and promote a positive working environment by being an initiative-taker and willing to assist team members on a consist basis. 
  • You are comfortable with technology and possess excellent computer aptitude including the use of Microsoft Applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.), and are willing and able to learn other company specific applications as required  
  • You have good written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with internal and external customers 
  • You have high diligence, can multitask, maintain an organized workplace, and have excellent problem-solving skills
  • You uphold health and safety to the highest standard! You consistently help others and demonstrate adherence to safety protocols, policies, and procedures to ensure you and your colleagues go home safely every day
  • You are willing and able to work a rotating shift and overtime hours, which can include nights and weekends during seasonal peaks to support production demand

What Makes You Stand Out:

  • Two-Year Technical or Associates Degree in Agriculture, Manufacturing, Operations, or a related field
  • You have one (1) year of education and/or experience in operations, manufacturing, agriculture, or related industry
  • General knowledge and/or experience with field and/or agriculture equipment (plows, tractors, forklifts, etc.)

Work Authorization and Relocation:

  • This position does NOT offer a relocation package
  • VISA Sponsorship is NOT available for this position

Site Dedicated (100% at Corteva location):

  • This role will be on site at our Corteva location
