We have an exciting opportunity for a Production Specialist - Field at our New Madrid, Missouri production location.

What You Will Do:

  • Field responsibilities include assisting Field Team with planting, field inspection, harvest coordination and troubleshooting
  • Participate in harvest activities such as seed sampling, scheduling, truck load/unloading, and other relevant processes including conditioning, packaging and shipping
  • Ability to help train a diverse group of growers and employees on seed field processes and expectations
  • Involved in the analysis of data collected from digital agronomy tools and strategies.
  •  Monitor grower bins and classify based on quality data
  • Complete data entry as required
  • Prepare required documentation for sample processing and shipping
  • Field Mapping support for multiple crops and production areas
  • Perform administrative procedures, along with all procedures associated with field activities
  • Shop, maintenance and 5-S duties
  • Perform a variety of tasks in a production plant and seed lab and production field environment including setting up and monitoring highly automated equipment for various processes such as harvest, conditioning, treating, and packing, as well as analyzing and processing samples and data entry
  • Creation and troubleshooting process orders within company systems
  • Perform a variety of tasks associated with general plant, field and warehouse operations that evolve with each season throughout the year 
  • Product return and sorting activities
  • Field activities such as scouting, inspection and managing logistics
  • Use of automation and computerized systems to perform work tasks (computers and iPads)
  • Perform warehouse activities such as forklift operation, collecting samples, and pooling
  • Various other duties as assigned

Education:

  • You have a high school diploma or equivalent

What Skills You Need:

  • You possess two (2) years' experience in operations, manufacturing, warehouse, or related field
  • You are willing and able to do the following with or without reasonable accommodation: Climb and/or work in elevated areas, Stand, and sit for extended periods, work outdoors and indoors in hot, cold, wet, and dry conditions, lift up to fifty (50) lbs., and perform work that involves repetitive motion and lifting
  • You have a valid US Driver's License and the ability to obtain additional licensing endorsement as required
  • You can work independently as well as in a team environment
  • You are comfortable with technology and possess good computer aptitude including the use of Microsoft Applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.), and are willing and able to learn other company specific applications as required 
  • You have good written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with internal and external customers
  • You have high attention to detail can multitask, maintain an organized workplace, and have excellent problem-solving skills
  • You love agriculture and you are passionate about playing your part in seeding and feeding the world!
  • You can easily relate to people, and you apply that skill set to effectively work with customers, peers, and all other stakeholders using strong verbal and written communication skills
  • You uphold health and safety to the highest standard! You consistently help others and demonstrate adherence to safety protocols, policies, and procedures to ensure you and your colleagues go home safely every day
  • You understand that delivering to our customers on time keeps us viable. Therefore, you are willing and able to work a rotating shift and overtime hours, which include nights and weekends during seasonal peaks to support production demand

What Makes You Stand Out:

  • Two-Year Technical or Associates Degree in Agriculture, Manufacturing, Operations, or a related field
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles such as 5S, Continuous Improvement and Standardized Work
  • General knowledge and/or experience with field and/or agriculture equipment (combines, harvesting equipment, tractors, forklifts, etc.)

Work Authorization and Relocation:

  • This position does NOT offer a comprehensive domestic relocation benefit package
  • VISA Sponsorship is NOT Available for this position

Site Dedicated (100% at Corteva location):

  • This role will be on-site at a Corteva location
