Job Description:

The Production Planning Manager at Corteva Agriscience is responsible for overseeing the planning and management of production resources necessary for the timely development of high-quality corn seed. This role emphasizes leadership in plant operations, ensuring safety, efficiency, and quality while fostering employee development and collaboration. The manager will coordinate production and maintenance schedules, drive continuous improvement initiatives, and maintain effective communication within the team and with external stakeholders.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure all plant operations and work activities are safe.
  • Continuously drive a safe work culture, ensuring employee engagement with safety and compliance with safety programs.
  • Coach, support, and develop employees to foster collaboration and teamwork while modeling Corteva Values.
  • Coordinate production and maintenance schedules to maximize production throughput.
  • Hold employees accountable for achieving performance results and promote effective teamwork.
  • Establish and support individual and team performance goals aligned with business strategy.
  • Encourage and support employees' career development.
  • Manage quality operations systems and processes to ensure product first-pass-quality and address failures with countermeasures.
  • Utilize LEAN Manufacturing and Six Sigma tools to drive continuous improvement projects.
  • Communicate effectively and hold regular team meetings for timely business updates.
  • Plan, organize, and direct plant operations for effective asset return.
  • Review and approve plans for production output control, budget spending, material efficiency, and maintenance effectiveness.
  • Manage daily plant operations including harvest receiving, dryer management, conditioning, treating, packaging, and distribution.
  • Ensure on-time delivery to meet business and customer needs.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in business, agriculture, or a relevant field of study.
  • 2 years of experience in leadership or supervisory roles.
  • Strong understanding of operational effectiveness with 2 years of experience in production, supply chain, engineering, or manufacturing.
  • Proven performance development and coaching/feedback skills.
  • Ability to manage diverse teams for cross-functional collaboration.
  • Results-oriented with strong priority management skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to lead through influencing skills rather than authority.
  • Commitment to safety and quality.
  • Experience in change management and innovation.

Nice-to-haves:

  • Process Safety Management (PSM) experience.
  • Experience with SAP and WMS systems.
  • LEAN Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma experience and certifications.
