Position overview:

This position is responsible for planning all stages of corn parent seed production for Brazil, from the field stages to the final processing of the seeds, in addition to the provision of production inputs and meeting deadlines for internal customers. This position will interact with all departments of Commercial Production, Global Parent Quality & Planning, Supply Chain, R&D, Seed Production Research & Characterization, Agronomy, Marketing, Engineering and Logistics/ITO teams.

Responsibilities:

  • Planning all of production plant and field operations according to our assets, seasons and demand
  • Facilitate field and plant operations to deliver the demand volume on time and in full (OTIF)
  • Interact with the Crop Planning and Parent Seeds Planning teams to build production plans, planting planning, direct the Field Operations Manager to hire growers, parent seed delivery and ensure service in terms of volume and deadlines.
  • Interact with R&D, Product Development, Seed Production Research and Characterization, Agronomy and Marketing departments aligning information and delivery of new products, advancements and early generations (R4+) production stages.
  • Interact with the Asset Scheduling and Inventory Management team to meet the volumes, deadlines, quality of products and usage decision of the production.
  • Align harvesting operation planning with third-party harvesting and transportation companies.
  • Manage harvesting and receiving operation planning based on harvesting capacities and destinations.
  • Responsible for the Quality Management and interact with all departments with the objective of maintaining the highest quality of our products.
  • Develop Root Cause Analysis for Genetic and Physiological issues and create an action plan to eliminate risks.
  • Lead the team of field and plant planners and analysts, quality and inventory specialists.
  • Understand and apply legislation applicable to the seed production department.
  • Have knowledge of LEAN and Six Sigma tools to assist in process improvement projects related to planning and production processes.
  • Interact and maintain constant alignment with internal areas, seeking improvements and harmonization of processes.
  • Maintain collaborative work, ensuring that activities are always aligned with area supervisors, field staff and other departments.
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies and standards.

Job Qualification:

·       Bachelor's Degree in Agronomy, Ag Business, Production Engineering, or equivalent area. Strong agricultural background required.

·       5-10 years of experience in Seed Production

·       Excellent oral and written communication skills.

·       English proficiency.

·       Ability to prioritize work, working under time constraints.

·       Ability to deal with conflict.

·       Proven leadership ability, ability lead by influence.

·       Strong analytical skills.

·       Detail orientation with an ability to see the broad perspective.

·       Ability to utilize resources effectively throughout the organization.

·       Decision making.
