Job Description:

As a Process Automation Data Engineer, you will play a crucial role in transforming raw process data into actionable insights, driving operational excellence across Corteva's seed processing facilities. In this role, you will develop scalable data pipelines, create robust reporting solutions, and ensure data transparency to support informed decision-making across all seed processing areas. Your contributions will drive operational excellence and enhance the efficiency and quality of our seed processing facilities, directly influencing Corteva's success. 

 

Key Responsibilities

 

Process Data Collection & Monitoring:

  • Design, implement, and maintain automated data collection systems for seed processing equipment and operations

  • Integration and data acquisition among control systems, historians, manufacturing execution systems, quality systems, manufacturing databases, enterprise data repositories, and ERP systems to generate comprehensive business insights

  • Collaborate with operations and IT teams on system updates and improvements

  • Monitor data flows and system performance, identifying trends and opportunities for process optimization and troubleshoot data integrity or system issues, ensuring timely resolution and support

  • Support development and enforcement of data standards, naming conventions, and system configurations

 

Strategic Support:

  • Partner with various operations support and IT teams to gather requirements and deliver effective data solutions that drive OEE and Quality improvements

  • Lead and support change management initiatives for process data systems, including training and best practice sharing

  • Enable efficient technology use aligned with business needs and operational goals across seed processing facilities globally

  • Foster cross-site collaboration to ensure consistent system performance and user experience

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in information systems, data analytics, engineering, computer science, or related field (or equivalent experience)

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in process automation, manufacturing data, or production systems roles

  • Strong understanding of manufacturing software platforms, digital reporting tools, and data governance

  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and global teams

  • Excellent communication, analytical, and project management skills

 

Preferred Skills & Experience:

  • Proficiency in reporting systems (SSRS and Power BI)

  • Experience with SQL Server and database client tools such as SQL Server Management Studio

  • Proficiency with software languages such as T-SQL, Python, DAX, etc

  • Experience with manufacturing applications such as Rockwell’s Factorytalk, InfoPlus.21, Dassault Delmia, and Inductive Automation’s Ignition

  • Experience with cloud platforms and data engineering tools, preferably Databricks and Microsoft Azure

  • Experience with validation protocols, change management, and quality management systems

  • Experience with statistical analysis methods including simple statistics, correlation, regression, etc.

  • Experience in system project execution practices including requirements specification, design specifications, and software testing protocols

  • Ability to translate business needs into technical solutions
