Come join our team! The Pioneer Territory Manager is responsible for leading and managing a defined group of independent Sales Agencies focused on the Pioneer seed brand in St-Hyacinthe, Quebec, Canada. This role requires a dynamic leader who can build and execute a strategic growth plan, develop and coach a high-performing sales team, and foster strong relationships with customers and Pioneer Agents.

Key Responsibilities:

Sales Leadership

  • Build and execute on a five-year growth plan and supporting tactics for your territory.
  • Recruit, select, and retain a high-quality, professional sales team to deliver a differentiated customer experience and sustained market share growth.
  • Coach best business practices and forward-thinking solutions with Pioneer agents
  • Coach effective relationship-building, sales tactics, and negotiations with Pioneer agents through various tactics.
  • Model the way in demonstrating integrity, determination, adaptability, passion, and collaboration.
  • Work collaboratively and communicate consistently will all peers, supporting functions, leaders, and external partners.
  • Serve as a role model, teacher, and coach to Pioneer Agents to develop skills and knowledge required to provide an exceptional customer experience and deliver results.
  • Advocate for break through ideas and solutions up and down the chain of command.
  • Set and manage sales targets, discounts, and growth plans with each Pioneer Agent for assigned customers and prospects.
  • Manage, strategically, the assignment of customers and prospects to Pioneer Agents to enable sustainable business growth.

Market Insights

  • Anticipate market opportunities and threats, and position your sales team to react, adapt and overcome.
  • Manage, strategically, the assignment of customers and prospects to Pioneer Agents to enable sustainable business growth.
  • Maintain a thorough agronomic and technical knowledge of Pioneer products and services.
  • Troubleshoot customer concerns and work to identify and deliver mutually beneficial solutions.

Required Qualifications:

  • B.S. Agriculture/Agronomy/Business/Marketing or related field preferred. 
  • Five to seven years of experience and proven abilities.
  • Willingness to travel and work in a rural environment.
  • VISA sponsorship and International Relocation are NOT available for this position.
  • The successful candidate MUST be fluent in French speaking and writing, and comfortable with English.

Demonstrated Knowledge of:

  • Pioneer products and services, including technical aspects and agronomic benefits.
  • Market opportunities and threats within the agricultural industry.
  • Strategic planning and execution for sales growth.
  • General understanding of standard business acumen.

Demonstrated Skills in:

  • Resolving conflicts and finding mutually beneficial solutions for customer concerns.
  • Coaching and developing sales teams to enhance their skills and performance.
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with customers and partners.
  • Effective communication and collaboration with peers, supporting functions, leaders, and external partners.

Demonstrated Ability to:

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive five-year growth plan for an assigned territory.
  • Recruit, select, and retain a high-quality, professional sales team.
  • Model integrity, determination, adaptability, passion, and collaboration in all interactions.
  • Set and manage sales targets, discounts, and growth plans.
  • Anticipate market opportunities and threats and positioning a sales team to react and adapt.
