Main purpose of the job:
The Marketing Manager for Crop Protection oversees the Crop Protection portfolio, providing leadership and strategic direction to category marketing managers and field agronomists. The Marketing Manager reports to the Country Leader.
The Marketing Manager will focus on:
- Growing sales in line with given country sales targets, driving profitability, market share and customer satisfaction through planning and implementing the country marketing priorities for crop protection aligned with Global and Regional Strategy
- Supporting commercial and customer needs by coordinating the national crop protection marketing strategy including product positioning, pricing, brand segmentation
- Taking accountability for product lifecycle management and all aspects of the marketing mix activities aligned with cross functional initiatives and development of new crop solutions incl. digital services
Major Tasks of the position:
- Leads the portfolio strategy for Crop protection and the marketing mix
- Accountable for crop protection relevant tasks like demand planning, product positioning, sales programs, inventory management and pricing
- Identifies new business opportunities and product concepts based upon unmet market needs and for research and development budget decisions
- Monitors and analyses competitor products, positioning, trends and customer needs and provides short to long-term planning assumptions
- Accountable for the crop protection P&L
- Coordinates with Category Marketing Managers and Marketing Communication Manager advertising plan and promotion activities and within set budget
- Oversees and strategically guides the activities of the field agronomists team
- Builds the organizational competencies through ensuring development of product and crop training modules
- Collaborates with cross-functional teams (notably sales and communication, R&D, regulatory) to align marketing efforts with overall business goals
- Oversees the creation and execution of integrated marketing campaigns across various channels (incl. digital, traditional marketing, social media...)
- Analyzes campaign performance metrics and adjusts strategies accordingly to optimize results
Skills, Experience, Qualifications & Competencies
- Degree in Agricultural Sciences with more than ten years of business experience working in the crop protection industry and in a country environment
- Excellent knowledge of the German crop protection market and its customers and products
- Profound expertise in portfolio management and strategic marketing
- Knowledge of Biologicals, esp. Biostimulants
- Strong strategic, innovative and customer mindset as well as ability to envision future market trends and opportunities
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Experience in team leadership and people management
- Fully fluent in German and English
